- In this week’s SBJ, I looked back on the Wilf family’s time in Minnesota as they mark their 20th season as Vikings owners. The are still searching for a Super Bowl appearance, but their business accomplishments include an always-sold-out stadium and modern team HQ that are the NFL’s brick-and-mortar gold standards. The franchise has multiplied 10x in value since the acquisition in 2005, and supercharged a new frontier for the Wilfs’ real estate business in the upper Midwest.
- Wynn Las Vegas acquired naming rights to the high-end east owners club at SoFi Stadium, now called the Wynn Club. It’s part of a multiyear sponsorship to both SoFi and the adjacent YouTube Theater. In the deal, Wynn gets the right to use the club -- accessible during games only from the owners’ suites and club seats on the stadium’s east side -- for its own private events, including an upcoming Winemaker’s Dinner.
- The return of football was a boon for the media distributors in September in terms of total TV usage, with Disney jumping back to the top of the charts over YouTube and NBCUniversal, per new data from the Nielsen Gauge analyzed by SBJ's Austin Karp.
