A couple of developments in the Diamond Sports Group saga, courtesy of my colleague Tom Friend:
- Amazon recently pulled its eight-month-old offer to infuse Diamond Sports Group with $115 million in cash, multiple sources told SBJ, a development that has delayed but seemingly not rebuffed Diamond's plan to reemerge from bankruptcy proceedings.
- Diamond Sports fortified its likely reemergence from bankruptcy on Friday by reaching terms with the NBA and NHL to broadcast local games for 22 teams this coming season across both leagues. However, while the announcement exuded optimism, the financial viability of Diamond beyond 2025 remains open-ended.
