USL Super League's Lexington SC set to debut new soccer-specific stadium

USL Super League club Lexington SC’s first home match on Sept. 8 against the Tampa Bay Sun will have them playing in their new 7,500-seat soccer-specific stadium, according to Drummond, Hermens & Poullard of the LEXINGTON HERALD-LEADER. The new LSC stadium is part of a “larger soccer complex” that features seven training and youth fields that represents an $80M investment by the team’s ownership. Since the LSC men’s team began playing in spring 2023, its home matches have been held at Toyota Stadium, a 5,000-seat venue on the campus of Georgetown College. With the upcoming opening of Lexington’s new stadium, the professional soccer organizations will “now all play in soccer-specific stadiums” ( LEXINGTON HERALD-LEADER, 8/16 ).
