Media Notes

In St. Louis, Dan Caesar noted New Orleans “led the way” as the top-rated local market for NBC’s coverage of the Paris Games. WDSU averaged an 18.9 rating for coverage in the 2-5pm and 8-11pm ET windows, followed by a tie between West Palm Beach-based WPTV and Tulsa-based KJRH (18.5 rating) ( ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH, 8/15 ).

WAITING THINGS OUT : In Miami, Barry Jackson noted the Heat “did not announce its local TV partner” for the 2024-25 season when the club’s scheduled was released yesterday. The team “would be fine with staying on Bally Sports Sun,” but it remains “non-committal about that publicly because a lot is contingent on Diamond Sports ... reaching a global deal with the NBA.” Teams that have deals with Diamond “are permitted to air 10 games on over-the-air television, an arrangement that began last season.” Some teams “have done that, but the Heat hasn’t to this point” ( MIAMI HERALD, 8/15 ).
