Genius Sports reported $95.4M in second quarter revenue, exceeding its guidance for the period and representing 9.9% growth from the same span in 2023. Its first-half revenue ($215.2M, up 16.9% year-over-year) and gross profit ($41.2M) are also outpacing 2023, which the data giant closed with $413M in revenue and $69M in profit. The company is projecting $510M in revenue in 2024.
Anchoring Genius’ second-quarter revenue was its betting technology, content and services category, which rose 18% to $67.1M compared to last year. Its media technology, content and services (down 2.2% to $18M) and sports technology and services (down 10.8% to $10.4M) categories saw revenue declines.
Highlights from Genius’ second quarter included signing a player tracking tech deal with UEFA and unveiling augmented broadcasts for CFL matches on TSN+. After the reporting period closed, it officially extended its live betting data rights agreement with Football DataCo .
