NHL to see big jump in salary cap in 2024-25

The NHL's 2024-25 cap ceiling will be set at $88M -- an increase of $4.5M from this past season, “making it the largest year-to-year jump in a decade.” It is a "reflection of the fact that players have repaid all remaining debts to owners stemming from the pandemic and a sign that revenues were strong" in a season in which Commissioner Gary Bettman "said the league set a new record for total attendance." Bettman said, “I predict it will continue to go up.” NHLPA Exec Dir Marty Walsh  said, “It’s been a good year for hockey” ( THE ATHLETIC, 6/8 ).
