Texas State Univ. signs 15-year stadium naming rights deal with University Federal Credit Union

The UFCU agreement is the “largest corporate naming rights deal for a football stadium in the Sun Belt Conference" Texas State

Texas State Univ. and University Federal Credit Union have signed a “multitiered agreement” that will see the university's stadium rebranded as UFCU Stadium and expand UFCU's 11-year relationship across the TSU campus, according to Caleb Yum of the AUSTIN AMERICAN-STATESMAN. The UFCU agreement is the “largest corporate naming rights deal for a football stadium in the Sun Belt Conference and one of the largest in Texas overall,” coming in at 15 years and $23M. The announcement also means UFCU will “become the official credit union of Texas State University” ( AUSTIN AMERICAN-STATESMAN, 5/21 ). In San Antonio, Greg Luca wrote the arrangement “marks another milestone for a surging football program” that set the school’s FBS record with eight wins in 2023, including the Bobcats’ first bowl victory. Texas State’s average home attendance "jumped nearly 21% last season," from 17,541 in 2022 to a new high of 21,184. The stadium is also undergoing a $37M renovation project to “add a weight room, training space, players lounge, locker rooms and hospitality areas” ( SAN ANTONIO EXPRESS-NEWS, 5/21 ).
