The Lakers on Tuesday fixed the errors on the statue outside of Crypto.com Arena of late Basketball HOFer KOBE BRYANT before the team’s final regular-season game at home. The names of former NBAers JOSE CALDERON and VON WAFER are now spelled correctly -- as is “decision” -- on the base of the statue. The Lakers are planning two more statues of Bryant outside the arena ( L.A. TIMES, 4/9 ).
NAMES : Steelers DT CAMERON HEYWARD was recognized yesterday by the Pittsburgh city leaders for winning the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award. Appearing during a City Council meeting Downtown, Mayor ED GAINEY said he wanted to recognize Heyward for “serving Pittsburgh with distinction.” Gainey joined the council in hosting a brief proclamation ceremony in council chambers to declare it “Cam Heyward Day” ( TRIBLIVE, 4/10 )....Mercedes-Benz hosted an event at the River House near Augusta last night.
