Formula E inks multiyear technology partnership with Google Cloud

Formula E and Google Cloud are entering into a multiyear technology partnership across a wide range of use cases, including the use of cloud infrastructure to analyze fan behaviors and preferences, the growth of Formula E’s FIA Girls on Track Program and the deployment of generative AI in the GenBeta Race Car Development Program.

Formula E and Google Cloud first collaborated last summer when the tech giant used its Vertex Gen AI to create the DriverBot, which processed real-time telemetry data from the racing circuit’s GenBeta car, which was developed with support from SABIC . The DriverBot shared speed, power and grip recommendations that helped NEOM McLaren driver Jake Hughes break the Guinness World Record for indoor land speed of 218.71km/h (135.9mph), which was 50 km/h faster than the previous mark. McKinsey’s AI-focused consulting division, QuantumBlack, also worked on the project.
