Live Nation reports 'biggest year ever' in tickets sales, attendance in 2023

Live Nation said that it had “its biggest year ever in 2023, in terms of both ticket sales and attendance,” according to Caitlin Huston of the HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. The company said that concert attendance was up 20% compared to the prior year, with “more than 145 million fans attending more than 50,000 events.” Ticketmaster sold 620 million tickets, up 13% from 2022. Across 2023, which “included tours from mega artists such as Taylor Swift and Beyoncé,” total revenue was up 36%, to reach $22.7B, and operating income increased 46%, to $1.07B. In Q4, which is “typically the slowest of the year,” Live Nation reported total revenue of $5.8B, up 36% YOY, and operating income of $116.9M, up 20%. In 2024, Live Nation said that concert ticket sales are “pacing up” 6%, with 57 million tickets “sold so far for this year” ( HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, 2/22 ).
