In San Antonio, Greg Luca noted the Univ. of Texas System Board of Regents approved a $35M funding plan yesterday for UTSA’s basketball and volleyball training facility, “with substantial completion targeted for August 2026.” The project is “set to be funded through” $15M in revenue financing system bond proceeds and $10M in designated funds, as well as $10M in grant funding from Bexar County and City of San Antonio bonds. The facility was “announced as part of UTSA’s Bold Champions capital campaign in December 2021” ( SAN ANTONIO EXPRESS-NEWS, 2/21 ).

TURN THE LIGHTS ON : REUTERS reported Italian Serie A club Udinese Calcio has “teamed up with local utility Bluenergy Group” to cover the roof of the club's stadium with solar panels in a “move they hope will increase support for green energy in the country.” The installation “will comprise more than 2,400 panels and will produce a daily average of 3,000 kilowatt hours.” The two partners are “also considering adding a battery storage system to enhance the efficiency of the solar plant, expected to be operational in October” ( REUTERS, 2/21 ).
