Devils extend Fitzgerald, add hockey ops prez title

The Devils and GM Tom Fitzgerald have "agreed to a multiyear extension" and a promotion to President of Hockey Operations/GM. The terms of the deal or number of years "was not immediately known or announced." Fitzgerald, who previously served as EVP/GM since 2020 and before that was the team's interim GM, "has overseen a roster overhaul and infusion of young talent," and the team "set a program-record for wins" in 2022-23 ( Newark STAR-LEDGER, 1/23 ).
