Erika Ayers Badan talks stepping down as Barstool Sports CEO

Erika Ayers Badan confirmed she was  stepping down as CEO of Barstool Sports in a video posted earlier today to her X account. Ayers Badan said she felt "super sad" about leaving the company after serving as CEO since 2016. She said it has "been a wild ride and I feel so grateful." Ayers Badan: "I'm so proud. We grew the company into something I don't think anybody ever thought possible, or probable. ... We did it our own way and we did it in style." She said the company has grown "1,000% in revenue over eight years" and the "audience grew even more than that." As to her exit, Ayers Badan said, "I feel like the work I came here to do is done." She added, "Everything I wanted to do here I did. I learned more than I could ever possibly imagined. And I gave everything I had." Ayers Badan said she felt "so good" about Barstool founder Dave Portnoy and he is the "right person" for the company. Ayers Badan: "I'm going to help Dave as long as he needs me. I'm gonna go try to figure out what I want to go build into next" ( SBJ ).
