Steelers will cancel some veterans' debt as part of deal with Verizon

The Steelers are using ForgiveCo’s debt cancellation platform as a community outreach and to support the team’s longtime sponsorship with Verizon. This season, the Steelers will forgive $100,000 worth of veterans’ debt for every regular-season and playoff win. Additionally, veterans activating a new smartphone line can receive a $50 bill credit. ForgiveCo buys up personal debt for cents on the dollar, forgives it, and then allows teams and brands to buy into the associated gratitude -- allowing for a write-off and the cause-related benefits. ForgiveCo CEO Craig Antico said the firm has helped forgive more than $50M in debt.
