Audience Analysis: NASCAR Cup Series sees gain for second race of season

Fox averaged 4.5 million viewers for the NASCAR Cup Series race from Atlanta on Sunday to lead all sports telecasts over the weekend. That is up 5% from the second race last season from Fontana (that track’s final Cup race ever). On Saturday, FS1 drew 1.2 million for the Xfinity Series race from Atlanta.

NBC drew 1.8 million viewers for the PGA Tour Mexico Open’s final round on Sunday as Jake Knapp won his first event. That’s down 23% from last year on CBS. Saturday’s third round was also down 23%.

Fox drew 284,000 viewers for its simulcast of the LAFC-Sounders match on Saturday -- its first MLS game of the year. That is down 27% from the first game last year (Nashville SC-NYCFC).
