The Dolphins-Chiefs Wild Card game Saturday night averaged 23 million viewers on Peacock, local NBC affiliates in the teams’ home markets and on the NFL+ mobile app, making the game the "most streamed live event in U.S. history." The game also "accounted for 30 percent of internet traffic" while it streamed. Last year’s Chargers-Jaguars game, which aired on NBC in the same window, averaged 20.61 million viewers for the network broadcast and 21.8 million across all platforms. The previous high for a streaming exclusive NFL game (plus over-the-air broadcasts in home markets) came on Nov. 30 , when 15.26 million viewers watched a Seahawks-Cowboys "TNF" game ( HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, 1/14 ).

Overall, Peacock logged its "most-watched day" in what NBCU described as "audience usage, engagement and time spent with a record 16.3 million concurrent devices" tuned in to the streamer ( VARIETY, 1/14 ).
